Public Healthcare

In Sweden, everyone believes in the virtues of the public health system. In it, we’re all heavily taxed in order to pay for everyone else’s health insurance. Unlike a system with actual insurance, however, the rate you pay doesn’t depend on how well you take care of yourself, but only on how much money you take. Even more sadly, a public system like this includes a number of extreme procedures that you’re forced to pay for to make others happy. The best example is gender reassignment surgery. A man decides he wants to be a woman, and you have to pay for it. An inmate in Britain convicted of attempted rape and killing the victim has now been transferred to a women’s prison, which is the first step in getting a tax-payer funded gender surgery. In Sweden, we have had the same procedure done with one of the country’s most notorious serial killers.

Why should I have to pay for it?
