Random Oddness

A few things that caught my attention this morning, in no particular order, and with no deeper thoughts behind them.

The Miss USA runner-up was asked if she thought gay marriage should be allowed. She stated, rather politely, that she thought marriage should be between a man and a woman. Fair enough, that’s her opinion. Unfortunately, this ended with her being loudly and lewdly insulted by openly gay Perez Hilton. Idiocy. I mean, if you’re going to ask someone a controversial question but can only handle if someone gives you the answer you want to hear, isn’t it better to just ask another question? It would be like me asking a prospective employee if they favor the death penalty, and then insult their morals and intelligence if they said they opposed it.

Obama wants the US to lend the IMF $100 billion dollars. This is somewhat hilarious, considering that the US has to borrow hundreds of billions of dollars from China just to break even with their budget deficits. Isn’t it better to fix things at home before going abroad to deal with issues? Besides, we all know 90% of foreign aid is wasted through corruption or mismanagement anyway.

The new Star Trek movie looks to be awesome. Why can’t the future be here sooner?!

Finally, climate quacks proclaim that hundreds of millions of people will fall victim to climate change within the next 6 years. The odd thing is that many prominent environmentalists actively support reducing the human population. So first they want us not to die, then they want us to die, and finally they just want our money. If ever there was ample proof that this is just one big hoax for more government control, more socialism, and higher taxes, this is it.
